A friend is dyslexic. As a young student she was made to feel stupid. She is anything but stupid, now an accomplished attorney with several advanced degrees. Her philosophy is that if younger people make you feel stupid, that will play out for you. The moral is that you control your self esteem and your identity. Believe in yourself and own your success.

You will express that more eloquently than I can of course.

Ho-Hum; another 'I did it, so can you'. Except....

Well, its actually the way a combination of independent thinking and interdependent action works! At the risk of accepting a stereotype, I don't think I know of any way tested methodologies ( 12 step programs)can help, and individual recoveries succeed EXCEPT by the kind of combination Tim suggests. Hooray!!
